The task of building up your swing music collection can be even more expensive and time consuming than building up your swing wardrobe as you will often find yourself buying an album that has maybe one or two fantastic danceable songs on it......but don't give up, here are a few tips :

• If you have broadband, try listening to some swing online first to see what you like. The best place to start is NZ's fabulous Cool Blue station, but there are also a bunch of free swing radio stations on Live365 - just sign up and press play! Our recommendations are listed below, so add these to your 'presets', and let us know if you discover any other good ones you think we should add to our list!
• Have a browse through the Jazz sections on Amazon (where you can listen to sample tracks first) or iTunes NZ (where you can buy albums or download MP3s) - and if you find something you like, also check out the 'people who bought this also bought' recommendations
• Check out the Jazz sections of Real Groovy Records or Borders or the bargain bins of The Warehouse (which alway have lots of older music going cheap)
• Make a note of the artists and albums of the songs that we play in class
• Look for 'best of' CDs of the artists listed below
• Look for 'swing' compilations that have some of the artists listed below. Some good starting compilations include:
