class descriptions

Beginners

Our 6-week beginners course introduces the core figures and rhythms of Lindy Hop, including the basic 6 count, 8 count, and charleston based moves, together with concepts such as leading / following, frame, and listening to the music. Repetition and practice are the key, and most students do 2, 3, or 4 beginners blocks before moving up.

Intermediate

Intermediate continues to work on the basic principles, and introduces a wider repertoire of classic moves to enhance your social dancing. In order to move up to Intermediate you must have completed 2 beginners blocks or equivalent (preferably more) and must be comfortable freestyling a lindy turn, swing out, lindy circle and charleston.

Intermediate / Advanced

This kick-ass take-no-prisoners class will move your dancing to the next level with increased focus on lead/follow technique and improvisation - plus a bunch of cool new moves, of course. Entry is controlled, so you will be invited to move up when appropriate - so start impressing us on that dance floor!

Balboa

As Balboa is a technical dance and this is a mixed level class, we control entry - so please ask us when the next opportunity to join will be.

special classes & workshops

In addition to the traditional Savoy Style lindy hop which is our major focus, we aim to broaden your dance horizon by also teaching a number of different dances or styles that fall under the 'swing' umbrella:

1920's Charleston
Balboa
Blues
Swing Rueda
Jazz Routines:

The Shim Sham
The Jitterbug Stroll
The Madison
The Big Apple
The Tranky Doo

Join our mail list to get notified of when these special classes or workshops are scheduled.

private lessons

Private Lessons are a great way to fine tune your dancing and are available on request.
($50 for 2 people for 60 mins with one teacher.)

A swing dance lesson (or series of lessons) can also be a great team building activity - at your venue or ours. Group pricing available on request.

corporate events

Our teachers and demo crew are available to liven up your next corporate function with a taster lesson, demos, and social dancing to help get your evening started. Contact us now to book us in.

phew! what next?

Heck, if you have made it this far then you have done all the hard work already, and it is all FUN, FUN, FUN from here on in. We would love to see at class THIS WEEK for your complimentary first FREE lesson - so JUST DO IT - it won't be as scary as you think, and you might just like it!!
