The weekend will start with our regular Thursday night lessons and dancing at the gorgeous Pasion por Tango studio right in the heart of Auckland's CBD. Come and get in the mood and start the weekend off as you mean to go on.

Registration: This will also be the first chance for those of you that have purchased a BASE pass to complete your registration for the weekend. Registration will run from 6.30pm up until freestyle starts at 9.00 pm.

opening night

For the official kick off of BASE Camp 2011 we are returning to our old regular Friday haunt in Takapuna - and we will be starting it with some open level workshops with a couple of our guest teachers. This will be the first night that most of our out of towners are in town so come on over and make them feel welcome - and start your endurance training.

band night

After a full day of workshops and a tiny nap, this is your chance to dress to impress and really get in the party mood. And to help with that we have the wonderful Society Jazzmen kicking up a storm.

Blues Night

Yes, you will be tired from 2 days of workshops, but there is no giving up yet as we have another night of dancing at yet another very special venue - Besos Latinos restaurant tucked right at the back of Elliot Stables. In keeping with the gorgeous ambience, the focus will be on Blues. And the best news is that they will be serving a selection of their divine and authentic tapas throughout the night, so don't eat first!

Blues late Night

But wait, there's more. Now that we are hardened campers and experienced blues dancers we think it is time for an AFTER PARTY! After our main event draws to a close there will be more dancing upstairs for the seriously addicted and slightly mad amongst us.

Dress: Presumably your smart casual will be a little the worse for wear by now.

wind down

And finally, if there is anyone still left standing, the weekend will draw to a close with a quiet drink or two, maybe some dinner, maybe some dancing......just a few minutes down the road from our workshops.
